Pre-season Membership and Information Meeting

Following a highly successful 2013 season with an 18-10 record and having come within two runs of winning the Mid Atlantic Vintage Base Ball League Championship Tournament, the Diamond State Base Ball Club is excitedly preparing for what promises to be a highly competitive 2014 season.

The Diamond State Base Ball Club (DSBBC) will be having its annual pre-season membership and information meeting on Sunday, January 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Iron Hill Brewery, 620 Justison Street, Wilmington, DE.  For current players as well as those who might be interested in playing in 2014, the meeting will include discussions on the team membership process, club changes, the game schedule, rule changes/interpretations and more.  The DSBBC looks to field two teams again in 2014, the Diamond States and the Atlas, and is in need of full and part-time players to fill out the rosters. Team membership forms for the 2014 season will be available at the membership meeting.

The Mid Atlantic League is a competitive vintage base ball league that uses 1860’s uniforms, equipment and rules to replicate how the game was played in its earliest days—without gloves and with wooden bats.  Diamond State utilizes its own dedicated ball field at Fort DuPont State Park in Delaware City, where practices and most home games are held.  A couple of  home games are also played each season in the Wilmington area.
