Diamond State Splits Match with Cecil

April 16, 2012 – The Diamond State and Cecil clubs played two thrilling, closely contested games of base ball yesterday at Terrapin Station Winery in Rising Sun, Maryland.  Each club tallied an ace in the final inning of each game to pick up 1 run victories.  Diamond State prevailed in the first game of the day by a tally of 12-11.  The home Chesapeake City handed the Blue and Black its first loss of the young season, taking the second game 6-5 in a low-scoring, defensive battle.

Diamond State’s record now stands at 3-1.

The Delaware nine will next travel to Rahway River Park in New Jersey to face the Elizabeth Resolute BBC.  The match is set to begin at noon on April 28.
