DSBBC Wins Two in Soggy Fairmount Park

On Saturday, October 8 the Diamond State BBC traveled to Philadelphia to take on the Athletic BBC under threatening skies, but the Delaware bats weren’t dampened by the conditions.  In the first match of the day, the Blue and Black used eleven tallies in their 4th inning to power their way to a 25-7 victory.  The club was led at the striker’s line by Blackbart (8 hits).  The effort also featured home runs by Anchor and Boots and a bases-clearing triple by Swampy.

The rains that stayed at arm’s length for much of the first match became increasingly steady throughout the course of the second contest.  The Diamond State strikers stayed hot at the line, using a steady barrage of aces to race ahead to a 22-6 victory.  The Delaware nine displayed a balanced attack, with 5 players (Boots, Blackbart, Hawthorne, Huck and Ring) reaching base 4 times with Blackbart and Hawthorne also driving home runs to the far reaches of the grounds.
