DSBBC Caps Off Season at Old Bethpage

The Diamond State Base Ball Club traveled north on October 16 to Long Island to end their season at the Mid-Atlantic Vintage Base Ball League Tournament.  The day’s events took place at Old Bethpage Restoration Village, the site of 1979 birth of vintage base ball.

In the first match of the day, the Delaware nine faced the Providence Grays.  The club plated 22 aces during the match while holding the Grays to only 2.  DSBBC was led a the striker’s line by Doc (6 hits) and Blackbart (5 hits).

In the second match, the Diamond States squared off with the Eckford BBC of Brooklyn.  The Delaware side didn’t fair was well in this contest, managing only 4 tallies while giving up 8 to the New York side.
