Blue and Black Earn Eastern Shore Split
On July 10, the Diamond State Base Ball Club traveled to Talbot County, Maryland to face their friends from the Fairplay BBC.
In the first match of the day, the Delaware nine jumped out to an early advantage with 3 tallies in their first inning, but failed to string together much production for the rest of the match, scattering only 3 more aces will giving up 11 to the Fairplays.
The second match was a close affair right up until the end, where the Diamond States found themselves on the short end of a 14-11 tally coming into the final half of the ninth inning. However the bottom half of the order produced timely striking to tally 4 aces, with Blackbart producing the hit to score the winning run for a 15-14 victory.
On the day, the Diamond State strikers were led by Blackbart and Lobo, with 7 hits apiece.
