Announcing the 2016 DSBBC Match Schedule

The Diamond State Base Ball Club is excited to announce their preliminary game schedule for the 2016 season. Highlights include a slate of matches at their home grounds at Ft. DuPont State Park in Delaware City. Additional New Castle County matches will be played at Ft. Delaware on Peach Patch Island (6/12) and Hagley Museum and Library in Wilmington (8/6 and 9/10).

On the road, the club will make journeys throughout the region, from Smithtown, NY south to Easton, MD.

This season will see the inclusion of several multi-club dates which will allow the Blue and Black to meet more of our fellow clubs on the field of play.  Dates include April 16 with the Brandywine and Mohican Clubs, the visit to Smithtown (NY) Historical Society (4/30-5/1), a 1870 Rules Round-Robin in Rahway, NJ (6/25) and the Philadelphia Navy Yard Vintage Base Ball Festival (9/17).

The MAVBBL season will conclude with a tournament at Old Bethpage Village, the birthplace of vintage base ball.

The Diamond States will take part in a special Thanksgiving weekend match with the Rising Sun BBC to commemorate an 1866 meeting between the Rising Sun, MD and St. Georges, DE clubs, played at Cayot’s Corner, MD.
