DSBBC Eclipsed on Pea Patch
June 14, 2010 – The Diamond State BBC traveled by ferry yesterday to the confines of Fort Delaware in the middle of the Delaware River to host the talented ballists from the Eclipse BBC of Elkton.
The weather was inhospitable with the mercury and humidity levels soaring. The Blue and Black battled their foe with everything they had.
The Eclipse jumped out to an early lead of 5-3 after two innings and never relinquished the lead from that point on, cruising to an 18-8 victory.
Brian ‘Cap’ Boulden lead the way at the plate going 3-4 and multiple other players chipped in with two hits apiece. Aces were difficult to score as the Eclipse were playing their usually stout defense.
Diamond State will travel to nearby Cecil County, Maryland this Sunday to play the Eclipse on their own field.
