DSBBC Completes 2010 Season in Port Penn
October 18, 2010 – The Diamond State Base Ball Club concluded its 2010 vintage base ball season with a hard-fought exhibition loss to the Claymont (DE) Fire Department Softball Team yesterday at the Port Penn Area Historical Society. Claymont rallied for 6 runs in the top of the 9th inning to overtake the Blue and Black by a final tally of 16-14.
Diamond State ends its second season since the revival of the old ball club with an overall record of 12-19, including 11-15 against Mid Atlantic Vintage Base Ball League (MAVBBL) members and 6-5 versus MAVBBL Eastern Division foes.
The ball club looks forward to the 2011 season.
