2018 Campaign Opens with Victories in Philadelphia
The Diamond State BBC club opened the 2018 season on Sunday, April 8 with a trip to chilly Philadelphia to face their friends from the Athletic BBC. The club’s bats awoke quickly from their winter slumber, clubbing their way to 14 tallies in their first inning. The Delaware nine didn’t look back from there on their way to a 28-12 victory. The strikers were led by Boots (6 hits, 2 doubles, 4 tallies) and Dutch (5 hits, 4 steals).
In the second match of the day, the first inning was also kind to the Blue & Black, as they once again saw 14 cross the plate. The Diamond States scored another 7 in the 7th and final inning of the match to finish with 33 to their opponent’s 16. The club was led at the striker’s line by Mini and Thunder, who each had 5 hits and 3 tallies.
